I’d like to hear Barack Obama give his thoughts, or typical stand-up routine / stump speech, about the announced National Same-Sex Kiss day at your local Chick-Fil-A restaurant. The LGBT community has decided to fire back against the outpouring of support for the fast food establishment, by undertaking stereotypically outrageous behaviors in mass.  Occupy Chick-Fil-A, with a kiss?

The response is not calculated, or very well through through.  It will honestly further diminish any bit of acceptance or empathy the incident may have given. In all honesty, what did anyone expect the restaurant chain’s leadership would say about same-sex marriage? The Christian message if very apparent, from the moment you walk into any location. From the music, to the quotes, to the fact that they are one of the only major chains closed on Sundays, did anyone expect they would not hold to strict Christian doctrine?

For many Christians, the definition of family is clear. Although, it is also a consideration as to how one conducts themselves or treats other people.  No one is promoting discrimination of any kind, as this was purely a religious based conversation that is now being used to push a political agenda. In this case, it’s not the promotion of same-sex marriage necessarily, but the continual portrayal of conservatives as closed-minded, or prejudice.

It’s a theme that continues to grow along with the election cycle, as the last jab was from Obama’s camp claiming that Romney suggested there was an Anglo-Saxon heritage to the relationship with England that Obama could not possibly understand. Count this as the second incident, and there will be more to come.  Perhaps there have even been more to date that have been overlooked.

Personally, the Cow will continue to enjoy the food at Chick-Fil-A, not as an act of defiance against these liberal attacks, but because the food is of high quality, and the service is exceptional. These two elements will allow the company to thrive far into the future.
