After the much celebrated agreement of both Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake to attend two separate Marine Corps Ball after being asked via YouTube, there have been a couple more brave Marines that posted their invites online.  To be added to the list of celebrities asked out are Miley Cyrus, Betty White, and Linda Hamilton.  However, just a few days ago, there was yet another video posted asking recently divorced Scarlett Johansson to the ball.  The brave Marine who asked Scar Jo out is Sgt. Dustin L. Williams.  The very musical video starts off as Sgt. Williams sports the Marines uniform and then he walked down the hall and sat on a lounge couch where he started his pitch. “Scarlett Johansson, it would be my pleasure to take you to the Marine Corps Ball and spend an evening with you,” said Sgt. Williams as he gave his convincing spiel to Scarlett.

I’m pretty sure Sgt. Williams wasn’t able to sleep as he awaited the reply of the lovely Scarlett.  And Scarlett didn’t waste her time and Sgt. Williams’ time.  She released an official statement right away regarding this matter.  As a lot of hopefuls prayed for a resounding ‘YES’, it was very unfortunate that Scarlett’s busy schedule cannot allow her to spend a night with the doting sergeant.  She said “I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Dustin L. Williams…not only does Sgt. Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for film making.”  Then she adds, “Sgt. Williams, unfortunately due to prior commitments I will not be able to attend the Ball with you this year but I am sending you a case of Moet and Chandon with gratitude. In my absence, I raise a glass to you and all the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps, past and present, in thanks for your continued commitment to preserving the safety of our nation.”

It must have been such a bummer for Sgt. Williams to have received a negative response from Scar Jo.  Nevertheless, we have to praise Scarlett by acknowledging the gentleman’s efforts; and not only that – she also gave a case of champagne as a toast to the bravery of the Marines.  Quite classy of Scarlett to have given the Marines a present.

After getting consecutive ‘No’s’ from the recent celebrities asked out, I would assume that the number of Marines who plan to ask more celebs out would trickle down.  But then again, they are the Marines, so who knows?
