This has probably sent Corporal Kelsey De Santis to the moon and back.  Why?  Because Justin Timberlake just accepted her YouTube invite to the Marine Corps Ball on November 12 at Washington DC.  De Santis’ video invite was a follow-up to another marine sergeant who asked Mila Kunis out.  Both Justin and Mila star in a new movie, Friends with Benefits.  Part of the reason why Mila accepted (contrary to recent news, Mila didn’t back out from gracing the Ball) the invite was because of Justin’s convincing powers.  Now, Justin also agreed to accept the invite – that is, if his schedule would permit him.

Justin even made witty remarks about the real reason why he accepted Corporal Kelsey’s proposition.  He said, “I’ll tell you what: I accept. But not because she shouted out one of my songs, which I do love. And not because she had all those beefcake military guys behind her to intimidate me.”  He even adds, “I don’t get asked out. Ever. So I was very flattered by that.”  It was very hard to believe that no one has ever asked Justin Timberlake out.  Or maybe not in a very public fashion.  I’m sure he always gets indecent proposals from a lot of women.

Hats off to Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake who, inspite of their popularity and hectic schedule, has found or is finding a way to pay tribute to the men and women who make this country a safe place to live.  In their own little way, they have boosted the morale of those who sacrifice their lives for the country and at least have given two members of the Marines something to look forward to.

Now, the question still remains.  Who do you think is the next to be asked out?  I’m sure more Marines and even private citizens are tempted to follow on the footsteps of Corporal Kelsey and Sgt. Scott.
