“Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive,” were Roger Ebert’s immediate response to the untimely death of Jackass star Ryan Dunn.  While many may not agree with Dunn’s work, the cultural phenomenon can not be dismissed.  An entire generation as been heavily influenced, and has enjoyed the works of the Jackass crew.

His untimely death is all too common with many of Hollywood’s young stars.  Work hard and play hard, but in each instance, their deaths were taken as a moment to reflect and gain perspective on our on lives.  What can we each do to improve ourselves, and the lives of those around us.  This in addition to recognizing the person that was lost.

Ebert, however, clearly took the low road with his unexpected remarks.  The level of insensitivity was so uncharacteristic, or so we that, given is recent brush with cancer that has left his appearance somewhat altered.
