The fourth installment to the movie Pirates of the Caribbean opened a couple of days ago earning around $35M on its first day.  This Johnny Depp led movie is about Jack Sparrow searching for the fountain of youth while two of his nemesis, Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and Blackbeard (Ian McShane) tries to find it ahead of Sparrow.  Rob Marshall is the director of the fourth installment. The movie also welcomed new cast members, Penelope Cruz who plays Angelica and Sam Claflin as Philip.

The movie got mixed reviews from its viewers and longtime fans.  Some thought that the 3-D imaging was poorly done and that it was better for viewers to just go to ordinary 2D movie houses.  Some compared the uber parallel roles played by Penelope and Sam, saying that Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom had better roles during the first installment and that it was understandable why they chose not to do the fourth installment.

While other complained about the fourth installment of Pirates of the Carribean, others thought that Rob Marshall’s exposure to musicals put a nice touch to the movie.  Some said that he took notice, not only of the actors, but also of the surroundings.  Others even commented that he took artistic scenes for this movie and that his partnership with Cinematographer Darius Wolski was a good one.

The best thing to do when hearing equal positive and negative comments is to go out and watch the movie.  Take the first hand experience and witness the 136-minute movie.  If you have seen it and have comments about it, then let everyone hear your opinions.
