“The President’s bold statements about Saddam’s links to Al Qaeda served as justification for the war.  Now that the linkage has been proven non-existent at best, he continues to maintain his position with a slight amendment.

“”This administration never said that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated between Saddam and al Qaeda,”” Bush told reporters.

Yet Bush maintains, “”We did say there were numerous contacts between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda, for example, Iraqi intelligence agents met with (Osama) bin Laden, the head of al Qaeda in Sudan.””

Listen to his call to arms before we went to war; there was a definite implication of Iraqi links to Al Qaeda. The public and media were absolutely consumed with this concept, and this helped pave the way to war.

“”[Saddam] was a threat because he provided safe haven for a terrorist like al-Zarqawi who is still killing innocents inside Iraq,”” says Bush.

Quite honestly, all of the terrorist activity in Iraq is because of “Bush’s War.”  Terrorists flocked to the country after the fall of Saddam.  That fact is clear, what is not is how many terrorists were in Iraq prior to our invasion and known to be in Iraq by Saddam.  We may never know as Saddam may not give the information we need.

At least we can look forward to the future “Saddam Sex Tapes”, leaked from the Department of Defense.

Aside from rudimentary presidential duties, what has bush done that merits any significance.
